FERRIDAY — Services for Mathilde Powarzinsky McGlothin, 89, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Louis Sklar and the Rev. Ray Varnado officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. McGlothin was born Feb. 8, 1922, in Ludwigshafen, Germany, the daughter of Johann and Karoline Powarzinsky. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Bernard McGlothin; one son, Kurt McGlothin; her parents; three brothers, Peter, Hans and Carl; infant sister, Lieselotte; and sister, Maria.
Survivors include two sons, Hubert John McGlothin of Tyler, Texas and Glen B. McGlothin Jr. and Elizabeth Atkins of Ferriday; one brother, Manfred; two sisters, Renate and Lotte; 10 grandchildren, Mika Rooney and husband, Tim, April McGlothin Eller and husband, Vince, Jake McClothin and wife, Robin, Julie McIntosh and husband, Toby, Erin McGlothin, Mallory McGlothin, Bryce McGlothin, Karla Faulk, Jeannette McGlothin and Joseph Atkins; eight great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Colin Rooney, Julian McGlothin Eller, Jordan McIntosh, Mollie Wood, Kayla Faulk, Ryan and Logan McIntosh; and one great-great-grandchild, Ryder McIntosh.
Pallbearers will be Jake McGlothin, Kenneth Hedrick, Morgan White, Hyram Copeland, Toby McIntosh and Vince McGlothin Eller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff McGlothin, Tim Rooney, Dr. Huey Moak and Dr. O’Brien.
