&8212; Holy Family Catholic School&8217;s annual fall festival kicked off 7 a.m. Saturday with a big garage sale, and continued until 3 p.m. with fun and games.
Most students from the school took their parents to the festival, where something was offered for everyone.
The kids bought tickets to play games in hopes of winning a cool prize.
E&8217;Keria Williams, 6, said that she won five toys, and her favorite one was colored chalk that she can use to write on the sidewalk.
Gloria Colston and Tammy Williams worked the milk toss game, and they said their booth was by far the most popular.
&8220;We&8217;ve done remarkably well. The evidence is in my box,&8221; said Colston, proudly displaying all the tickets she had received from kids who enjoyed the game. &8220;We sold out of prizes five times, and had to keep getting more. Kids just kept coming back.&8221;
There were plenty of activities for adults, too, from a silent auction to raffles.
&8220;I came just for the auction. They&8217;re going to have everything from Zales jewelry to things from antique shops. You never know what you&8217;re gonna buy. They&8217;ll have everything you can name,&8221; said Erena Dionisio, who attended with her son and two nephews.
Wania Wilson said she and her two kids had a &8220;wonderful&8221; time.
&8220;It&8217;s just a good thing to do on such a beautiful day,&8221; she said. &8220;It&8217;s also good for other kids who don&8217;t attend the school to come out and have fun. It&8217;s something fun for the children in Natchez, when there&8217;s not much else to do,&8221; she said.
Brenda Byrd was impressed with the turnout, and said the festival was just one more way the students and teachers of Holy Family could get together as a group.
&8220;Holy Family may be a small school, but we&8217;re just like family. It&8217;s a great school with well-taught children,&8221; she said.
