FERRIDAY &8212; A 23-year-old Natchez man was shot in a &8220;reverse&8221; drive-by shooting in the Levee Heights subdivision, near Ferriday, Wednesday night.

The alleged shooter, Jonathan Green, 18, 1133 Levee Heights, was arrested by the Concordia Parish Sheriff&8217;s Office and charged with four counts of attempted second-degree murder.

A reverse drive-by shooting occurs when a pedestrian fires a gun at a moving vehicle.

CPSO Investigator Jimmy Darden said shooting appeared to have stemmed from an incident between the victim and the mother of the victim&8217;s child at her Levee Heights residence.

Darden could not release the name of the victim.

&8220;Upon leaving there was a slight confrontation between the Natchez man and the mother of his child but it was nothing that should have escalated to a shooting,&8221; Darden said. &8220;That&8217;s just senseless.&8221;

After the victim got into his car, Green allegedly came outside with a pistol fired three or four shots into the side of the car, wounding the victim in the left leg, Darden said.

Darden said the victim was in the passenger seat of the vehicle and friend Dennis Davis was driving.

The victim was taken to Natchez Regional Medical Center in the same vehicle, in which he was shot and the hospital personnel notified CPSO of his arrival.

Darden said the victim was treated then released.

According to the report, Sgt. Jack Fletcher immediately met with the victim and other occupants of the vehicle at the hospital.

Lt. Ernie Banks, Sgt. Eddie Poole and Darden arrested Green a outside a residence near the shooting a short time after the incident was reported.

Thursday Sheriff Randy Maxwell said Green had already been out on bond for several other charges including two counts of simple burglary, carrying a firearm in a school zone, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of schedule II drugs with intent to distribute, simple arson and entry onto property after being forbidden.

&8220;This guy is a problem and does not need to be out on the street,&8221; Maxwell said. &8220;Hopefully we can get him with a bond high enough where he can&8217;t get out of jail.&8221;

Darden said Green had been out on bond for other charges two or three days before the incident.

Green&8217;s bond will be set Monday.

Darden said he is still questioning witnesses and recovering evidence in the case.
