Agents team up to arrest five for drugs

FERRIDAY &8212; Working together, the Concordia Narcotics Task Force, Vidalia police officers, Catahoula Parish and Adams County narcotics agents arrested five people at a Ferriday residence Thursday morning.
According to the CPSO report, Genesia S. Green, 20, 200 Kyle Road, Ferriday, Kenyona Leonard, 18, 419 South Sixth St., Ferriday, Meshawn Jefferson, 17, 11 Third St., Clayton, Xavier Lendale Green, 18, 607 E.E. Wallace Blvd, Ferriday and Montrell D. Harrell, 19, 905 10th St., Ferriday, were arrested and charged with possession of schedule II drugs (crack cocaine).
Harrell was also charged with a bench warrant for failure to appear in court.
Deputy Chris Groh stated that the arrest was made at Xavier Green&8217;s residence, next to a day care facility, and has been the scene of prior drug-related activity and arrests.
Groh also stated that an infant at the scene was at the residence at the time the warrant was served and was turned over to a relative&8217;s custody.
&8220;We greatly appreciate this assistance from the Catahoula Parish and Adams County narcotics agents,&8221; Sheriff Randy Maxwell stated. &8220;We always know we can count on our friends in law enforcement in our neighboring parish and across the river and, in turn, we&8217;re always available to them.&8221;
&8220;Working together, we can accomplish a great deal in this ongoing battle against drugs.&8221;
