NATCHEZ — Services for William M. Shelton, 85, of Washington, who died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Washington Baptist Church with Carl Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Shelton was born Aug. 19, 1926, in Allen, the son of Moses and Lona Shelton. He retired from Johns-Manville in 1992, after 45 years of service. He loved woodworking projects such as building bird houses, picnic tables and other things.
Mr. Shelton was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Shelton; one son, Gene Shelton; two brothers, Edward Shelton and Russ Shelton.
Survivors include two sons, Micheal Shelton and David Shelton; one sister, Lena Hedgepath; his beloved dog, Haley; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Shelton Hedgepath, Joey Shelton, Jerry Dunigan, Bob Scott, Kurt Dillon and Kevin Wheat.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Nations, Danny Brown, Todd Mooney, Dale Collier, Mike Barfield, Garnell Webb and Albert Newell.
