The Natchez High Lady Bulldogs played two games Thursday at the Crystal Springs Tournament and lost both of them.
In the first game, Natchez High allowed three second-half goals in a 4-1 loss to the Wesson Lady Cobras.
“The first time we played Wesson, they beat us 7-0. So I was pleased with the way they played,” Lady Bulldogs head coach Lena Yarbrough said. “We held them 1-1 at halftime and then we fell apart.”
The bright spot for the Lady Bulldogs in this game was the return of Erica Singleton, who had missed several games with a broken foot. Singleton scored their only goal of the game.
In the second game, Natchez fell to the host Crystal Springs Lady Tigers, 3-1. The game was tied 1-1 at halftime, but, much like their first game of the day, Crystal Springs scored twice in the second half.
Jessica Evans’s goal in the first half was the Lady Bulldogs’ only one in the game.
Natchez High resumes action in the Crystal Springs Tournament when it takes on Murrah High today at 9:30 a.m.
The games in the tournament will not count in the season standings.
