Recording artist to perform tonight

Universal recording artist Lil Boosie will rock the mic Friday night at the Natchez Convention Center.
Born Terrance Hatch, the 23-year-old Baton Rouge native has been a part of the southern music scene since he was about 11 years old. Releasing his first album and selling over 10,000 copies in the early 90s, Boosie remained a southern treasure until 2004.
He then gained national popularity with the releases of the songs “Gimmie Dat” and “Bad Chick,” on which he teamed up with his labelmate and Baton Rouge native Webbie. With the signing of his deal with Universal, Boosie joined the hip-hop/urban music history books with rappers Tupac Shakur and Jay-Z.
Although Boosie performed once before in Natchez at Mr. Z’s, Friday will be his first visit since signing his major record deal and this time a much larger audience is expected and welcomed.
Tickets can be purchased at Jay’s Audio II (in front of K-Mart) for $25, $45 for V.I.P. and will be $5 off from 4-6 p.m. Friday.
The show begins at 9 p.m.
