Anti-abortion group to have vigil

Will you come stand with us?
We will be standing up for life on behalf of over 40 million unborn children who have been destroyed by legalized abortion since the 1973 Supreme Court Roe vs. Wade decision, followed by the Doe vs. Bolton decision which legalized abortion at any time, for any reason (or for no reason whatsoever).
These innocent victims will be remembered at a brief candlelight vigil service sponsored by Pro-Life Natchez-Adams County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22 on the Broadway Street bluff.
This date marks the 34th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, since which time 4,000 unborn children have been deprived of life every day. That’s one thousand more deaths than occurred in the terrible 9/11 attack. It is also one thousand more American lives lost than in the entire four years of war against terror in Iraq. And it is happening every single day, as it has for 34 years.
How long will our country allow this atrocity to persist? Until enough of us take a stand.
For this reason Pro-Life Natchez-Adams County, with the assistance of a number of supporters, has placed 4,000 small pink and blue flag markers on the bluff, each marker representing another life lost to abortion each and every day.
It is also for this reason we are urging you to gather with us, along with several local pastors, for a short (30 minute) service on the bluff at 5:30 on Jan. 22. The candles will be provided, so just bundle up and join us, rain or starlight. Your presence will testify to your belief in the sanctity of life. All of us have been given the gift of life. Let us now take a stand so that all others may be blessed with this gift.
Virginia O’Beirne is the Co-Chair of Pro-Life Natchez-Adams County.
