NATCHEZ — Services for Derbie D. Nelson, 48, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Columbus Felton officiating.

Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Nelson was born Jan. 16, 1963, in Adams County, the son of Double Day Nelson and Dortha Nelson.

He was preceded in death by her father; one sister, Bertha R. Felton; one brother, Robert J. Nelson; and one niece, Romona Nelson.

Survivors include his wife, Jada Nelson; three daughters, Alecia Reed, India Reed and Gemecia Williams; his mother; four sisters, Mary Dan and husband, Mike, Ginetta Anderson and husband, Matthew, Kathy Hampton and husband, Samuel, and Glenda Montgomery and husband, Dee; two brothers, Lee Felton and wife, Erma, and Wallace Anderson and wife, Betty; and nine grandchildren.
