Anti-abortion flags bring issue up again

The anti-abortion flags on the bluff have once again brought the issue to the public forum.

However, people on either side of the issue seem to miss the point when debating the subject. The 1973 Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, was founded on sound constitutional law, that a woman’s right to an abortion is guaranteed under the 14th amendment to the Constitution.

Apparently, conservatives believe the rights guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution apply to everyone but pregnant women.

In a democracy such as ours, there is nothing wrong with taking sides on the abortion issue, but conservatives oppose it in the wrong way.

First, if one is against abortion, then do not have an abortion.

Second, if one wishes to stop others from having abortions, change their hearts instead of treading on the Constitution.
