Hord named senior manager for Spinal and Biologics

Edward Hord recently was promoted to senior manager, Clinical Affairs at Medtronic, Spinal and Biologics, with headquarters in Memphis, Tenn. Medtronic, Spinal and Biologics is the global leader in today’s spine market in advancing the treatment of spinal disorders.
Hord graduated from South Natchez-Adams High School in 1984. He attended the University of Mississippi and Mississippi College, where he graduated in 1990 with a bachelor of science degree.
From 1990 to 1994 he was employed by the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson in the physiology and biophysics department. He received a bachelor of science in nursing from the medical center in 1996 and then worked as a critical care nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
At Medtronic, where he began work in 2001, he is responsible for the management of several domestic and international clinical trials involving investigational devices developed by the company and for management of field services.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hord of Natchez.
