Trinity wins one, loses one at tourney

The Trinity Saints made the trek to the Central Private Tournament Thursday night and came home with a split.
In the first game, the Saints scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 5-4 win over Oak Forest.
Parker Brumfield was the winning pitcher for Trinity, and he also notched a double at the plate during the game.
Chad Sanford took the loss for Oak Forest.
The Saints jumped ahead 4-1 after a four-run third inning, but Oak Forest scored a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth before Trinity was able to take the win.
The second game did not go as well for the Saints.
The Central Private Rebels jumped out to a 10-0 lead en route to an 11-3 win.
Damon Cross took the win for Central Private, and Blaine Misita was saddled with the loss for Trinity.
Brumfield led the Saints at the plate again, batting 2-for-3 with a double. Matthew Freeman also notched a double on the night.
The split sent Trinity’s record to 1-2 on the season.
