Natchez has little for children

I just recently visited Natchez and indeed it is a beautiful city.
My family and I have even considered moving here. I read your newspaper daily online so we decided to visit.
On our vacation, unfortunately, there wasn’t anything to do with the children. We visited all of the beautiful antebellum homes, convention center, antique shops and the library. I have school-age children and my God, where are the swimming pools, recreation centers, decent playgrounds and YMCA?
Being a resident of Virginia Beach, children are a priority because they are the future. I think I saw three or four private schools in Natchez, which tells me a lot about your city.
On the other hand, speaking with Natchez residents the public schools are average.
So, basically for my children to have a good education I will need to pay. What about the families that can’t afford private schools? I was just very disappointed!
I read about new hotels, new convention centers, maybe a new prison, so money obviously isn’t the issue.
Maybe, if there were constructive activities for children and teenagers, there wouldn’t be so much crime.
I am sure I am not the first person who has expressed a concern about your city.
