NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Trevallis L. Swayze, 37, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, will be at noon Thursday at Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Elery officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Trevallis was born April 8, 1974, in Natchez, the son of Dazie Swayze and Leon Ridley III. He was a 1993 graduate of Kennedy High School where he was active in track, football and the marching band. He was currently attending Kirkwood Community College, majoring in business.
Trevallis enjoyed sports and was a participant in the Iowa Games both in track and football. He was a wonderful, caring man who enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by his beloved family and a number of friends.
He was preceded in death by a special cousin, Alphonso Davis and his grandparents.
Survivors include two daughters, Kaylie and Avery Swayze, both of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Zaire Swayze of Phoenix, Ariz., and Nijel Cambridge-Swayze of Cedar Rapids; his mother of Cedar Rapids; his father of Natchez; three brothers, Demosthenes “Dee” Swayze of Cedar Rapids, Stevan and Chad Ridley, both of Natchez; and his fiancée, Tanna Cambridge and her daughter, Alijah of Cedar Rapids.
Memorial donations may be made to the Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation in Trevallis’ name.
