NATCHEZ — An 8-year-old boy was hit riding his bike on Morgantown Road Tuesday afternoon around 4:45 p.m.
Jimmy Novak, who works in the nearby Cottage Grocery, said the boy, Antonio Robinson, was in his store just a few moments before the accident, which he saw occur.
Robinson was coming down from Greenlawn Memorial Park on his bike and ran into the side of a car, Novak said.
Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield confirmed Robinson’s report, but did not know the make of the car, as the report hadn’t been submitted when he left the office.
“The incident was unavoidable for the lady in the car,” Mayfield said.
Robinson’s aunt, Laura Thompson, said he was at Natchez Regional Medical Center and in stable condition.
“He is responding, but is not able to stand up yet,” Thompson said.
