Dig out for this year’s Animal Affair

The Natchez-Adams County Humane Society invites you to join us and a few “deer” friends for an Animal Affair at Historic Linden Bed & Breakfast from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday evening. Linden is located at 1 Linden Place just off of Melrose Avenue.
Admission is $25 per person and can be paid at the door. In addition to the best food around, there will be a cash bar, and those in attendance are encouraged to check out the items in the silent auction while enjoying the party. Dress for the evening is casual.
We extend our special thanks to Mrs. Jeanette Feltus for opening her beautiful home for this fundraising event. All proceeds will benefit the operations fund of the Humane Society.
The Conner/Feltus Family has owned Linden since its early days, and has operated the mansion as a bed and breakfast for several decades.
Through those years, guests from all over the world have come to praise the ancestral home, including many dignitaries and celebrities.
An interesting fact about Linden is that the design of the front door was copied for Tara’s front door in “Gone With The Wind.” Numerous articles have been written about the home in Southern Living, Colonial Homes, Reader’s Digest and Ghosts of the South, just to name a few.
Linden’s main house dates back to 1790 and the east wing was added in 1818, making Linden one of the oldest, most historic homes on tour in Natchez.
All donations to the NACHS will be appreciated and are tax deductible.
We thank our faithful supporters for your continued help. If you are unable to attend the Animal Affair, donations can be mailed to NACHS P.O. Box 549 Natchez, MS 39121.
Finally, on behalf of the NACHS Board of Directors, we extend the greatest of thanks to our outgoing board members, Pat Cox, Nan Garrison and Anne Vaughan, for their years of service and dedication to the welfare of animals in our community.
Susan Mingee is a resident of Natchez and a member of the NACHS Board of Directors.
