JONESVILLE — Services for James Curtis “Bud” Huff, 73, of Monterey, who died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Baker and the Rev. Brian Taylor officiating.

Burial will follow at Myrtle Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday, both at the funeral home.

Mr. Curtis was born Sept. 27, 1938, in Ferriday, the son of Curtis Phillip Huff and Vera Kaye Huff. He was a farmer and for the past 30 years, the owner of Big John’s Burgers and Jackie’s Restaurant in Jonesville.

In his early years he loved to rodeo and bull-ride. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and field training his beagles. Mr. Curtis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Korean and Vietnam veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife and the love of his life of 31 years, Jackie Huff; three sons, Cody Huff and wife, Staci, of Spring, Texas, Jaime Huff and wife, Barbie, and Mark Carney and wife, Teri, all of Monterey; one daughter, Susan Stewart and husband, Brad, of Jena, La., two sisters, Gwen Webber and husband, Clyde Ray, of Lake St. John and Patsy Newman and husband, Marion, of Ferriday; five grandsons, Cory Smith, Matthew Taras, Chance Windham, Hunter Frey and Gavin Huff; six granddaughters, Haley White, Reagan Huff, Kyli Huff, Madison Carney, Mia Huff and Ella Rose Huff; and his extended family from Big John’s Burgers and Jackie’s Restaurant.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Trey Webber, Phillip Webber, Chad Kenney, Desha Roberts, Josh Johns and Greg Stephens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Red Tiffie, Max Huff, James “Babe” Huff, James LaCroix, Haywood Whitley and Kenny Creel.
