Southern Miss falls to Marshall 6-3

CHARLESTON, W.Va — Southern Miss managed three runs on only three hits as they fell to Marshall 6-3 in the series finale at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, West Virginia.
Adam Doleac had two of the three Southern Miss hits and a runs scored while Taylor Walker accounted for the other hit with a two-out RBI single in the sixth inning. Travis Creel scored two of the three Southern Miss runs, reaching on an error and drawing a walk.
Ryan MacNamara got the start at pitcher and had the best out of his career through the first five innings, allowing just two hits and facing one over the minimum, while striking out six. Then came the sixth inning where he hit a batter, walked another, allowed a two-RBI single and a two-run home run to end his day.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Oxford to play No. 14 Ole Miss.
