Rebels, Bulldogs advance to Super Regionals

No. 9 batter Alex Kliman had four hits and drove in five runs — nearly half his season total of 12 RBIs — to help Mississippi advance to the super regionals.
Kliman was one of nine Ole Miss hitters with at least one RBI and the Rebels set a season high for runs and hits (22). Ole Miss (40-23) batted around in two innings against the Bearkats (40-24).
Ole Miss will play the winner of the Tempe regional championship between Arizona State and Nebraska. If Nebraska wins, Ole Miss will host the three-game series.
Mississippi State 9, Florida State 4
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Brandon Turner and Brian LaNinfa homered tro help Mississippi State advance to the super regionals with a 9-4 victory over sixth-seeded Florida State on Sunday night.
The Bulldogs (36-20) advanced to the super regionals for the first time since 2001 with the victory over the Seminoles (49-13).
Mississippi State starter Josh Johnson (3-3) and relievers Ricky Bowen, Aaron Weatherford and Mitch Moreland limited the nation’s top hitting team to six hits — two in the final five innings. They combined to strike out 10.
Jack Rye hit two home runs for Florida State.
