Ferriday pool is still unsafe for swimmers

The Ferriday Swimming Pool was opened without the knowledge or approval of Concordia Recreation District No. 1.
Our board’s concern for the children and adults who use the pool is strictly a safety issue and a health issue.
We have corresponded with Mayor Gene Allen, both verbally and in writing, to let him know we wanted an inspection of the pool before it was put into use.
Obviously, this has been totally ignored. Is this a ploy to further his political career?
If not, what is the reason to disregard our wishes on property that is owned by the recreation district?
We say again here, the pool and its facilities should be at a standard that will pass inspection by the health department; and, until this is done, Concordia Recreation District No. 1 is against the pool being opened.
