NATCHEZ — The Natchez 7-8 year-old Dixie Youth All-Star team fell 3-1 on the road to Copiah in Game 1 of the District Tournament Friday night.

“We seemed a little nervous or tight,” Coach Gary Farmer said.

The Natchez All-Stars were able to tally five hits. Those hits came from Jace Calcote, Gabe Smith, Daniel Garrity, Dalvion Jackson and Reed White.

Jackson was the only one to hit for extra bases.

“It’s hard to only have five hits in coach pitch,” Farmer said. “We usually average 18 hits.”

Natchez will face Copiah tonight at 6:30. The game will be played at Sprague-Gousett Field in Duncan Park.

“Hopefully we can come hitting,” Farmer said.

“We want everyone to come out and support us. We need the crowd.”
