TEN YEARS AGO — Lee Jones allows to runs on five hits and strikes out 12 as the Natchez Confederate League defeat Franklin County 7-2 and Preston Hicks hits a home run as the Natchez Rebel League defeats Claiborne County 18-8 at the 9-10 All-Star Tournament.

FIVE YEARS AGO — Even though the Concordia Parish 13-year-old All-Stars were not the favorite to win the district tournament, coach Seth Eidt says he knew it would happen and, in the process, becomes the first 13- or 14-year-old team from the parish to practice this late in the season.
