And white males in full mid-life crisis mode, what better chance to make a life change than to become a star of the silver screen.

The cast of an upcoming Civil War film seems to need someone from just about every walk of life, and lucky for Natchez, the producers want you.

Producer Bruce Bridegroom and Director Jason Urban will be looking in the Miss-Lou soon for a cast for their independent film. Any local resident, preferably with some stage experience, can set up an audition by calling 601-446-6345.

Natchez has had Hollywood connections in the past and a move is in full swing to bring back the glam. With the recent announcement that a movie about Bonnie and Clyde will be filmed in Adams County, and this latest casting call, it appears the stars are aligning — literally and figuratively.

Movie-making is an industry that fits perfectly into our existing tourism market. It can bring money into our town, national attention for our sites and prestige for our residents.

City media liaison Sally Durkin and those helping her recruit deserve the Natchez version of a Hollywood Walk of Fame star for their efforts.
