Good News flowing like summer rains

Summer rains and afternoon storms haven’t been enough to stop the good news from flowing in the Miss-Lou this week.
Let’s review the good headlines of the week.
4First Natchez Radio Group has always claimed to be at the top of their market, but this week they proved it. The staff of 95 Country was rewarded with the title of 2007 Radio Station of the Year.
Any time a part of our community is noted for excellence, the rest of us benefit. Keep up the good work, WQNZ FM.
4The Ferriday Chamber of Commerce is ready to spark some interest in local businesses and they’ve got a plan in place. The first of several business open houses occurred Thursday night at Jeffery’s Flower Shop on Louisiana Avenue.
Locals and guests alike are invited to see the store, enjoy some snacks and, of course, spend some dough. Ferriday, like any town, needs successful local business and we are glad to see the Chamber of Commerce taking the lead to make things better.
4The Adams County drug court had what has become an annual event this week — a graduation. Nine past offenders have completed the program, held down jobs and passed all the required tests. Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders and her staff have created a wonderful community-minded program in the court, and each graduating class is a point of pride for us all.
The Miss-Lou is likely to see a few more summer storms before fall hits, but we are sure the good news will keep flowing as well.
