First I need to say I am not a writer so please bear with me for I feel honored and compelled to write this letter.

The people of Adams County have the unique opportunity to elect to the office of circuit clerk, a man of integrity and compassion in Eddie Walker. I met Eddie in his official capacity with the DA’s office five years ago when my family and I became the victims of a horrific crime.

I have yet to understand why such a terrible thing could happen to my beautiful 6-month-old granddaughter, but I thank God he put the wonderful people in the DA’s office to help myself and my family through such a terrible time.

You cannot imagine the devastation my family and I went through unless you have been in our shoes. We had no experience, thankfully, with law enforcement or crime victims program. I came to know Eddie during the months of preparation before we went to trial. He became our counselor, guide and friend. In obtaining needed information and informing us of the awful events we would have to recount, Eddie did so with compassion and understanding.

Eddie’s knowledge of the court system was invaluable to me and my family. He was the keeper of information and was always ready with the facts and dates for the DA’s office and our family. It also seemed he knew everyone and they were his friends, a walk from the DA’s office to the court house would always involve several people saying hello or stopping to ask Eddie some fact or other.

In the past five years my family and I have gotten to know a little more about Eddie Walker and now I am one of those folks to stop and say hello or ask after his family and he mine.

I have seen him a school picking up and dropping off his children, Andrew and Austin, at school events. We have talked at soccer and football games. I know of his love for Adam’s County and his desire to become an honest and accountable circuit clerk.

So here your chance to have a positive impact on county government. Elect Eddie Walker Circuit Clerk.
