Music has always been a part of Theodis Ealey’s life. Since leaving Mississippi, Theodis always carried the Mississippi sound through his music. It was Theodis Ealey’s charm and magnetism that attracted audiences worldwide.
His electrifying showmanship opened the doors to Hollywood. Theodis appeared in the NBC movie of the week, “A Kiss To Die For”, also “The Evers Boys” and the major motion picture “The Fighting Temptations.”
Theodis Ealey generated industry recognition for his innovative style and authentic Mississippi flavor when he was honored with the Mo Better Blues Male Artist of the Year award and the Male Vocalist Top Star award in the Cali Bay area.
Theodis also crossed music genres when he performed as a featured vocalist with The Ghetto Mafia on their “On The Grind” CD. This further expanded his fan base. His biggest hit “Stand Up In It” was a runaway success as the No. 1 single on Billboard’s single sales chart for five consecutive weeks, debuting at No. 5 on Billboard’s Blues Albums chart and No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop charts.
Theodis thought this song and album was just for grown folks; the industry and listeners thought otherwise.
Now Natchez is where it all began. So he decided to start his tour at home with a new album and show that the world is craving for. This show is being promoted all across the Miss-Lou. The annual Theodis Ealey Homecoming Concert will be Aug. 4 at the Natchez City Auditorium.
On the same show will be Lebrado, the younger brother of the platinum record selling duo, KC and JoJo. He brought you hits such as “Missing U Babe”, “Coffee”, and his latest hit, “Fire,” which is already at No. 5. This young man is multi-talented and has the looks to compliment his talent. So ladies bring your towels.
The show would not be complete without the cool, calm, and collected Mr. “Man on Mission” himself, Mr. Willie Hill.
So Natchez and surrounding areas, before the hustle and bustle of school begins, let’s go out and have a good time. For ticket information call WTYJ radio station at 601-446-9911 or call 404-294-1908. Information is also available at standupinit.com.
