NATCHEZ — The Natchez Mayor and Board of Aldermen interviewed candidates for a school board position Wednesday.
At the work session the board talked to each of the four candidates in executive session. The candidates included retired teacher and principal Millicent Mayo, teacher Thelma Newsome, Firefighter Earl McCullen and Amos James.
The board will further discuss and make a selection at a later date.
The aldermen must also fill volunteer positions on the Board of Water Commissions, Civil Service Commission, Construction Code Board of Appeal, Economic Development Authority, Natchez Recreation Council and two openings on the Preservation Commission.
The aldermen announced the vacant positions in early July.
