WATERPROOF — Services for Clyde Monroe McDaniel, 95, of St. Joseph, who died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Ridgecrest Nursing Home in West Monroe, La., will be at 10 a.m. today at Maryland Baptist Church in Waterproof with the Rev. Larry Foster officiating.
Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. McDaniel was born Feb. 19, 1916, in Gloster. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. McDaniel farmed in Tensas Parish for more than 50 years. He was a member of Maryland Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jones McDaniel; one grandson, Randy Williams; one great-grandson, Aidan Williams; one daughter-in-law, Mildred McDaniel; one son-in-law, David Williams; three brothers, Captain McDaniel, Cleveland McDaniel and Clinton McDaniel; and two sisters, Maudie Huffman and Fannie Mae Jones.
Survivors include one son, Leroy McDaniel; one daughter, Bobbie Williams of West Monroe; one grandson, Dunnie McDaniel and wife, Lisa, of St. Joseph; and two granddaughters, Wendy Hays and husband, Scott, of El Dorado, Ark., and Kay Taylor of West Monroe; two great-grandsons, Dylan Hays of Greenbrier, Ark., and Will Taylor of West Monroe; six great-granddaughters, Devin Hays of Baton Rouge, Elise Williams of Houston, Texas, Rachel Williams of New Orleans, Maurie McDaniel, Summer McDaniel, both of St. Joseph and Regan Taylor of West Monroe; and one great-great-granddaughter, Avery Hays of Baton Rouge.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Jones, James Jones, Allen Lansing, Charles Simmons, Danny Wayne McDaniel and Wayne Bass.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gus Francis and Whit Jones.
