NATCHEZ — Three men were arrested this week in connection with burglaries in four Mississippi counties.
Two of the men were pulled over by a Franklin County sheriff’s deputy Wednesday and reportedly had stolen property in the car, Adams County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Ricky Stevens said Friday.
“After the deputies talked to the suspects in the vehicle, (the suspects) admitted to burglaries in Claiborne, Jefferson, Adams and Franklin counties,” Stevens said.
The investigation later led to the arrest of a third man, he said. A fourth suspect is still at large.
Those arrested include Lee Alexander Brooks, 29, of Vicksburg, Tremaine Sentell O’Quinn, 24, of Union Church and Quincy Ladell Williams, 30, of Vicksburg.
Brooks and O’Quinn were held at the Franklin County jail Friday, while Williams was transported to Vicksburg on a probation violation charge, Stevens said.
Brooks and Williams are allegedly connected with three Adams County burglaries, he said.
The two allegedly broke into houses on Mississippi 553, Old Highway 84, No. 1 and Old Courthouse Road recently, Stevens said.
Jewelry, DVD players, game stations and three guns were missing from those houses, he said.
“They were just randomly going around, checking houses in rural areas,” Stevens said. “If nobody was in them, they would kick or pry open the door and steal people’s personal items. The biggest things were jewelry and game stuff.”
Law enforcement officials found most of the items in a Vicksburg pawn shop, Stevens said.
“We were up there (Friday) verifying (the property),” Stevens said. “We don’t have the whereabouts of the three weapons, but everything else was up there.”
The men currently face charges in all counties but Jefferson, Stevens said.
