NATCHEZ — Approximately 1,000 Entergy customers were without electricity for about an hour Wednesday afternoon.
A large tree limb fell at the intersection of Westwood and Ridgewood roads, tearing down a pole and lines.
Power to those along Seargent S. Prentiss Drive in the area surrounding Parkway Baptist Church went out as a result.
Approximately 50 customers closest to the downed limb are still without power and will be until sometime this evening.
“Some people that will go home after work and be out,” Entergy Customer Service Manager Stephen Caruthers said.
Power should be restored to all customers by the end of the day Wednesday though, he said.
The limb fell just before 2 p.m., and power was restored to the majority of the customers at around 2:45.
