During the year 2008 many throughout the world will celebrate the centennial anniversary of the birth of our communities native son Richard Wright.
Here in the City of Natchez, the Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration will focus its 2008 efforts toward the work of Richard Wright during Black History Month.
Here at the Natchez Association for the Preservation of Afro-American Culture Museum we plan to establish a Richard Wright Exhibit Hall, in tribute to this internationally recognized literary genius from Adams County. To this end, a great deal of financial resources must be generated in order to make this a reality.
This is where you come in. On Friday, Sept. 14, the NAPAC Museum will host “An Evening of Jazz Vibrations” featuring the musical talents of the Russell Thomas Quintet.
If you have been searching for an evening of outstanding entertainment here in Natchez, then your prayers have been answered. Fans of good jazz music will be in heaven, I guarantee.
Advanced tickets are now available. If you are in possession of a NAPAC membership card, then the cost to you will be only $15. Non-members are asked to pay $20 (you really should be a member).
You can call 601-445-0728 for access to advanced tickets.
The price will be $25 at the door, so get your tickets early. Even if you don’t care for jazz, we hope you will consider making a donation towards the establishment of the Richard Wright Exhibit Hall.
Visit the NAPAC Museum at 301 Main St. and become a part of our renaissance.
