VIDALIA — A motorcyclist was killed near Vidalia Monday after his motor-tricycle was involved in an accident on U.S. 84., across from the Dodge Store.
The Louisiana State Police — the agency investigating the incident — would not release the name of the victim or any other information about the accident Monday.
A state trooper on the scene confirmed the accident was a fatality but would not release any more information.
Metro Ambulance Service responded to the call, and the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office directed traffic flow past the accident site.
The passenger of a Chevrolet four-door car also involved was reportedly transported to the hospital.
The CPSO said they did not have any information Monday, saying the state police were handling the investigation.
The red three-wheeled motorcycle laid crookedly on one side, propped on one tire and its handlebars, the gas tank apparently knocked off during the collision.
The motorcycle apparently struck the front passenger-side fender of the Chevrolet.
Dodge Store employee Annette Washington, who was working at the time, said a truck was parked on the shoulder of the highway when the accident occurred.
“There was a truck there and that might have blocked (the driver of the car’s) vision,” Washington said. “I don’t know what happened to the truck or the driver, but a truck was there.”
Officials at the Louisiana State Police Troop E office said they would release more information about the crash Tuesday morning.
