VIDALIA — Services for Martha H. Sturgeon, 90, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Adams County Nursing Home, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia with Claire Shields and Jean Walsworth officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sturgeon was born Feb. 8, 1921, in Lake Village, Ark., the daughter of Ellis and Pearl Hart. She was a member of Vidalia First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sturgeon was preceded in death by her husband, C.L. Sturgeon; her parents; one sister, Edna Cross; and five brothers, Ellis, J.V., Douglas, Cecil and Tommy Hart.
Survivors include one daughter, Gwen Swoveland and son-in-law, Joe, of Vidalia; one grandson, Joe Swoveland Jr.; one granddaughter, Stacy Swoveland; one great-granddaughter, Kallie Swoveland; one great-great-granddaughter, Kaylen Swoveland; one brother, Henry Hart of Gulfport; two sisters, Ellen Roper of Tallulah and Sally Burnette of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be deacons of Vidalia First Baptist Church.
