NATCHEZ — All but one Natchez public school dropped from a Level 3 to a Level 2 in state accountability rankings this year.
The scores were released by the district in a press conference Thursday morning. McLaurin Elementary maintained it’s Level 3 status on a one to five ranking, with five being the best.
Morgantown Elementary, Robert Lewis Middle School and Natchez High School all dropped to Level 2 schools. West and Frazier primary schools do not receive the rankings.
Morgantown is now in year one of school improvement, a No Child Left Behind ranking that indicates a school has not shown the appropriate growth. RLMS has been in school improvement level 2 for several years and now must begin a restructuring plan to improve future scores.
