VIDALIA — The Vikings will try to turn their season around this Friday at 7 p.m. when they travel to Mangham High School for a non-district game.

Vidalia (1-2) is coming off of two straight losses at the hands of Ouachita Christian School and Ferriday High School .

Vidalia led the whole game against Ferriday until a fumble by the Vikings gave the Trojans the ball on the Vidalia five yard line.

Both losses were nail biters for the Vikings.

In those two games, Vidalia lost by a combined five points.

“We’re going to have to block better,” Vidalia coach Dee Faircloth said. “It’s our Achilles heel.”

Vidalia will have to give quarterback Brandon Hawkins time to pass.

“He’s a good quarterback, we have to start blocking for him. We can’t afford to have him running around back there,” Faircloth said.

Vidalia’s offense is only averaging 14 points a game this season.

Halfback Jeremy Randall is coming off of a good performance averaging 8.9 yards-per-carry against Ferriday.

Mangham (1-2) is coming off of a loss courtesy of Madison Parish.

Faircloth mentioned that Mangham has great athletes and great coaches.

“They are a very good ball club, they get better with experience,” Faircloth said.

“I consider it my hometown, it was my last stop in high school,” Faircloth said.
