ALEXANDRIA, La. — John Casey Young pleaded not guilty last Wednesday at his arraignment to six counts of production and attempted production of child pornography.
A grand jury indicted Young, 43, of Ferriday, on all six counts Sept. 28.
Young was arrested Sept. 8 for one count of the charge, but further investigations produced enough evidence for five other counts for the grand jury to indict him of six counts.
Young has hired Alexandria defense attorney J. Michael Small to represent him.
According to Title 18 of the United States Code, Section 2251(a), a charge of production of child pornography pertains to those who encourage minors to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of visually depicting the conduct and transmitting the depiction in any way, including by computer.
Part (e) of Section 2251 states those who violate the code could be fined and sentenced to not less than 15 years and no more than 30 years in prison.
