All newspaper had to do was call

The editorial in Thursday’s edition is interesting, however, I talk to your reporters almost daily, and it would have been simple to call and ask why I wasn’t at the bar meeting.
I would have been there if I had been notified. I was not aware of the meeting. As a result of not calling me for the information and printing this opinion piece, it now looks like no one from the NPD was interested, therefore, printing this was a disservice to the community, in my opinion.
If I had been at the meeting I also would have informed the group that aggressive enforcement of loitering is what we have always done and will continue to do.
What we cannot do is commit an entire shift of officers to several bar parking lots when we have an entire city to protect. The citizens who are not in bars at night deserve protection as much as the bar patrons.
