VIDALIA — The Vikings just couldn’t get it going.

Vidalia (3-4, 0-2 District 3-3A) lost it’s second straight game to district foe Marksville, 32-0.

The Vikings knew they had a tough challenge and it showed.

“We didn’t show up to play,” Vidalia coach Dee Faircloth said.

Marksville (6-1, 2-0 District 3-3A) scored on their second possession of the game with a 24-yard pass from Alex Brouillette to Jordan Williams to put the Tigers up 7-0 with 3:58 left in the first quarter.

With 5:53 to go in the second quarter, the Tigers scored on a 4-yard run by Brenon Hudson to go up 14-0.

Marksville would then go up 20-0 on a 25-yard interception return by Michael Glaviano.

After the half, the Tigers picked up where they left off, pulling in a 1-yard touchdown run by Brouillette to go up 26-0 with 8:42 left in the third quarter.

Marksville would score its final points with 10:23 left in the fourth quarter on a 12-yard touchdown run by Hudson.

The Tigers controlled the entire game, limiting the Vikings to only 84 yards on offense.

“We played hard tonight,” Marksville coach J.T. Dunbar said. “They were a tough challenge for us, especially their defense,” Dunbar said.

Marksville will host Bolton next week for a district game.

Vidalia will try to get back on the winning side of things next week, traveling to Buckeye for a district game.
