TEN YEARS AGO — Huntington High senior Chad Vaught will have a tough time deciding not only what school to attend, but also which sport to play. Vaught has thrown for over 950 yards despite missing nearly two complete games and went 8-1 on the mound as a junior with a 1.67 ERA.

FIVE YEARS AGO — Andrew Jackson shoots a 3-under-par 69 and Glyn Bateman shoots a 1-under-par 71 to lead Alcorn State to a team score of 286 and a 10-shot lead over Southern University after Day 1 of the Alcorn State Men’s Invitational at Beau Pré Country Club.
