WOODVILLE — Franklin County senior quarterback Jamie Collins threw four touchdown passes as the Bulldogs rolled to a 42-0 win over the Wilkinson County Wildcats Friday night in Region 7-3A action.

Collins completed nine of 14 passes for 189 yards. Ryne Tutor and Jarvis King each caught two touchdown passes. Tutor had four catches for 106 yards and King had four catches for 65 yards.

On this night, Franklin County (7-2, 3-2) didn’t have to rely on its running game as it had for most of the season. However, the Bulldogs did manage to have 161 yards on the ground.

And once again the defense was outstanding.

Josh Tillman led the way with three tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery.

Wilkinson County (1-8, 0-4) had minus-28 yards rushing on 22 carries and was held to just 64 yards of offense.

The one bright spot for the Wildcats was senior wide receiver Keyon Johnson, who had two catches for 66 yards.

Delvin Fosselman had three carries for 42 yards, with most of those yards on two fake punts.

Jefferson County 38, North Pike 6

FAYETTE — Despite losing senior quarterback Percy Turner to bruised ribs nearly midway through the first quarter, the Tigers had no problem defeating the Jaguars to remain in first place in Region 7-3A.

Turner threw a 61-yard touchdown pass to Henry Nichols with just over 10 minutes left in the opening quarter.

Then with 7:28 to go in the same quarter, Turner took a big hit trying to pick up a first down.

He went back in for a couple of plays, but left the game and didn’t return.

Junior backup quarterback Jeffery Collins entered the game and the offense didn’t miss a beat.

Collins scored on a 5-yard run in the second quarter and threw two touchdown passes in the second half.

The Tigers’ defense forced four turnovers and their offense racked up 418 total yards.

Block 30, St. Mary’s 27 (2 OT)

JONESVILLE — The Bears defeated the Tigers in dramatic fashion and won for the third time in their last four games to finish in second place in District 3-1A.

Block improved to 3-6 overall and ended up with a 3-1 record in district play.
