NATCHEZ — The suspect in a Saturday armed robbery has surrendered to law enforcement officers.
Frederick Jermaine Hauer, 21, 15 Brentwood Lane, turned himself in to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 9 a.m. Sunday.
Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said Hauer’s mother brought him to the office.
Hauer will be questioned Monday on his possible involvement in an armed robbery at a car wash on U.S. 61 North.
Mayfield said Saturday the robber asked the male victim, who was washing his vehicle at the car wash, for a cigarette and then asked the victim what other property he had.
The robber then raised his shirt and showed he was carrying a pistol. The victim gave approximately $280 to the robber, who fled the scene on foot.
Mayfield said deputies, through witness and victim statements, were able to gather enough information to issue an arrest warrant for Hauer.
Hauer is being detained without bond in the Adams County Jail.
