FERRIDAY — Memorial services for James William “Jimmy” Peek Jr., 70, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, in Ferriday, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Spencer officiating.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Peek was born July 29, 1941, in Bastrop, La., the son of James William Sr. “Dub” and Helen McAllister Peek Hill. He was employed by LP&L Entergy and retired after 25 years of service.

Mr. Jimmy was a member of M&D Hunting Club and a member of First Baptist Church in Ferriday.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Lloyd B. Hill; one son, James Barrett “Barry” Peek; one sister, Jeanetta Hayles; and one brother-in-law, Rex Burget.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Peek; one son, Lloyd Brian Peek and wife, Kristy, of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Julie “Duke” Edwards of Monroe, La.; three grandchildren, Rebecca Caldwell, Hailey Guillory and Austin Peek; one great-grandchild, Layne Peek; two special grandchildren, Kate and Elizabeth Traylor; two brothers-in-law, Bobby Hayles and Dickie Barrett and wife, Deb; one sister-in-law, Sandy Burget; one daughter-in-law, Amber Peek and her son, Wyatt; and a special caregiver, Debbie Polk.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shelton Seals, Charlie Daniels and Dustin Dawkins.
