Natchez — The Natchez Ministerial Alliance invites family and friends to attend the community Thanksgiving service 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church.

The Rev. Robert Perkins of the Evangelical Methodist Church will be the featured speaker. Music will be provided and a love offering will be given to a local charity.

“The event is a blessing to the community and especially to the recipients of the love offering,” the Rev. Jerry Nickerson said. “In recent years, the donations have added to the budgets of charities at a time when needs are greatest.

“The real blessing is in the coming together of friends and families in a simple yet powerful meeting that displays harmony and unity to give thanks to our gracious God.”

Nickerson said the service is an opportunity to say a collective, “Thank you God.”

“We come together without fear to sing, pray and dwell safely in God’s house,” Nickerson said. “Come, receive a blessing, be a blessing as we celebrate all that God has done for us.”
