God is reason enough to give thanks

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. It’s that time of year again.
As I always say, we have so much to be thankful for. All we have to do is think back in the past up until now and we can see how much that the Lord Jesus Christ has done for us.
He brought us out of a world of darkness into his marvelous light and that’s enough by itself to be thankful.
Thank you Lord Jesus for saving us. We know that every day is a day of Thanksgiving. God has been so good to us. We are blessed and thankful with good health and strength. We are able to walk and move about and that’s something to be thankful for. Sometimes we have aches and pains, but we are still able to go on by the grace of God.
When we lay down at night and he wakes us up early in the morning, that’s enough to be thankful for. Thank you Lord for another day’s journey. We thank God for our loved ones, our families, our marriages. We thank God for food to eat, shoes to put on our feet, clothes to wear, because all blessings come from Him.
So as we go about preparing the Thanksgiving feast, be thankful. We might not have all that we want to have or need to have, but be thankful anyway.
Some people don’t have what you have. Some that are homeless have no food sometimes to eat and nowhere to stay.
So as you fix all the goodies, think of someone who is less fortunate than you. Read St. Matthew chapter 25, verses 35-36.
When you help someone you are helping Jesus. As I end this article with the help of the Holy Spirit I want to say again, happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
I’ll leave you with Psalm 100. Read it and let’s stop looking at what we don’t have and thank God for what we do have.
