Thanks to all who worked on holiday

With Thanksgiving behind us, I would just like to say thanks to all the people that didn’t have the day off to relax and over-eat.
All of those people who gave up their holiday to make life more comfortable for those who were able to take the day off and of course those of us that are retired.
I am a creature of habit and when I get up at 5 a.m., fix the coffee, and shower, I enjoy reading The Democrat and listening to Rosco and Teri on the radio.
Well guess what — the paper was in my driveway and the morning crew was at work on the radio as usual on Thanksgiving morning and if my memory is right, working every other holiday.
Later that morning I had forgotten to pick up something from the store the day before and quickly ran up to Kaiser’s Mobil station which was in full operation. My electricity, phone, cable and water all worked Thanksgiving day, sick people were being cared for at the hospitals, hungry people were being fed at the Stewpot, kids were being taken care of at the Natchez Children’s Home and Sunshine Shelter, the police, sheriff’s offices and fire departments were doing their jobs.
I am sure many more people were at work that I didn’t mention but you know who they are and I think we should tell all of them thanks.
Can you imagine what life would be like if every one of these dedicated people had just taken off? Thanks again to all of you.
