NATCHEZ — There was plenty of scoring from the Centreville Lady Tigers.

Seven players found the bottom of the basket to lead the Lady Tigers past the ACCS Lady Rebels 50-25 Monday night.

“This was the best game we’ve played so far this season,” Centreville head coach Jason Horne said. “We shot the ball very well tonight.”

Led by senior center Emily Gaulden, the Lady Tigers built a 22-0 lead at the end of the first period. Gaulden finished the game with 16 points.

“We did a better job of taking care of the basketball,” Horne said. “We played a complete game.”

The Lady Tigers held ACCS to just seven points in the first half.

“Our defense played very well tonight,” Horne said.

The Lady Rebels put together a second half rally, outscoring Centreville 18-15.

Sara Beth Fuller and Marlee Wadsworth led the Lady Rebels with eight points each.

Although Horne was pleased with his team’s performance, he said there were still some fundamentals they need to work on.

“We have to continue to work on moving the ball,” he said. “Movement is key in basketball. If you move the ball well you can get teams out of their defense and create shots.”

Centreville Boys 74, ACCS 39

Four players scored in double figures for the Centreville Tigers in their win against ACCS.

Kyle Brown, with 17 points, led Centreville followed by Jamie Dezendorf with 16.

Lee Swinny led the Rebels with nine points while Luke Brumfield, Dillon Johnson and Dustin Carroll had eight points each.
