Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse …well, maybe a few.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, the curtain will open to reveal 100 dancers for the second annual performance of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” After many months of practicing and countless costume fittings, the night that once seemed so far away is almost here. From the smallest of Santa’s Bells to dear old St. Nick himself, everyone is excited and filled with anticipation for the big night.

The evening promises to be one filled with grace, humor and the spirit that only comes with Christmas. The sets, costumes and props are magical in themselves with an actual sleigh pulled by a talented crew of eight tiny reindeer and of course, Rudolph. Adding to the excitement is that these nine reindeer will be pulling Kris Kringle himself who is reportedly bringing numerous delightful surprises including several new friends. Chief among the additions will be jovial jingle bells, poised poinsettias and one mischievous little character. Rumor also has it that Santa has an additional surprise for those dreaming of a white Christmas.

Under the direction of Mrs. Ann Gaude, the young ladies of Middleton School of Dance would like to invite everyone in the Miss-Lou area to share in this enchanting evening with Santa, his reindeer, his elves, sugarplums, fairies and numerous other charming characters. This Christmas spectacular will be held at the Natchez City Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and may be purchased at the door the night of the performance. So whether you are on his “naughty list”or “nice list,” Santa and this cast promise an evening filled with surprises, whimsy, and of course … magic.
