LORMAN — Tammy Williams, senior, biology/physical therapy major, from Natchez, has earned the distinction of being named to the National Dean’s List, an honor bestowed only on the top 1 percent of college students.

Tammy Williams is a non-traditional student. She went to college as an adult raising a family. She is married to Earnest Williams and has a daughter E’Keria Williams.

“My little girl made me go back to school. I wanted her to have a foundation and be able to see that her both her parents went to college and not have an excuse not to go to college,” Williams said.

Upon graduating she wants to teach at Alcorn State University.

Based on her exemplary leadership and outstanding academic performance, Williams has been nominated to attend the International Scholar Laureate Program Delegation on Medicine next summer 2008.

This rare opportunity will have a tremendous impact upon Williams’ future. Her participation in the International Scholar Laureate Program Delegation on Medicine in South Africa will place her in elite company as she pursues her professional career goals.
