FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Hilda Payne, 84, who died Sept. 27, 2011, at Heritage Manor Health and Rehab in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Freddie Schiele officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Ferriday.

Mrs. Payne was born on July 1, 1927, in Leonville, the daughter of Willie and Teresa Knight Davis. She was retired from Concordia Parish Schools where she worked in food services. Ms. Payne was a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church.

Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Payne Sr.; one daughter, Celeste Payne; one sister, Hazel Thomas; and one brother, Willie Davis.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Isaac and husband Tom Roberts of Dallas, Terrie Stanfield and husband Victor of Monticello, and Sadie Parker of Los Angeles; four sons, Stanley Payne, Willie Payne and Kenneth Payne, all of Dallas, and Robert Payne Jr. and wife Nellie M. of San Diego; one brother, Leroy Davis of Los Angeles; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
