Mr. and Mrs. Ben H. Graves of Waynesboro announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Brooke Elizabeth Graves to Barry Lynn Bowden Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Lynn Bowden Sr., of Vidalia.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Wayne County High School in Waynesboro and a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg where she received a bachelor of fine arts degree. While at USM, she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She is employed by Petal School District as an art teacher.

She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Martin Sr. of Raleigh and Mrs. Helen Bernice Hilton Graves and the late Benjamin Dial Graves of Laurel.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Vidalia High School and is also a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. While attending USM, Barry was a member of the Golden Eagle baseball team. He is employed by the Kansas City Royals.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lloyd Counts Sr. of Madison and the late Frances Newton Counts of Yazoo City and Mrs. Marion Cotham Bowden and the late William J. Bowden of Arkansas City, Ark.

The wedding will be at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at Main Street United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg.
